Last Friday, 7 November, we organised our first joint event with Ctac: “From data to impact: discover the power of Databricks”. Professionals gathered at the Ctac office in ‘s-Hertogenbosch to discover how data and AI, with Databricks and SAP, are actually converted into value in practice.
It was an inspiring morning full of content, interaction and concrete examples. Thank you to all participants for the sharp questions, good conversations and energy.
From SAP data to valuable insights
An important theme of the day was unlocking SAP data for analytics and AI. During the Gold Strike session, it became clear how organisations using SAP Business Data Cloud and Delta Sharing are no longer keeping their data locked away in systems, but are making it available as a single source of truth. This enables advanced analytics and AI applications, both within SAP and Databricks environments.
Databricks as the foundation for data & AI
In the session From Data to Impact, Databricks demonstrated how Lakehouse architecture brings together data lakes and data warehouses in a single open and scalable platform. From governance and BI to machine learning and streaming, everything comes together in one place. Combining SAP and non-SAP data creates new opportunities for data-driven innovation, including AI/BI, Genie, and Lakebase.
Use cases and a live demo
Together with Ctac, we concluded with concrete use cases and our joint approach. We also showed a live demo of a predictive maintenance case, which clearly demonstrated how data, models and domain knowledge come together in an applicable solution. The session ended with a practical step-by-step plan for moving from data to impact.
