What gives you energy, at or outside work?
“At work, I get energy from the variety. We work on many different projects, each with its own depth, complexity, and challenges. That means I collaborate with different Pippelaars all the time, and no day is the same. The diversity of client requests also keeps things interesting. Sometimes a project is very technically complex, sometimes it requires a creative solution, or it may be politically sensitive. That mix of variety and challenge keeps me sharp. Outside of work, I also seek variety. In the summer, I enjoy hiking; in the winter, skiing. I also run and play chess. In the past, I’ve done a lot of bouldering, table tennis, and chess. And of course, I enjoy spending time with friends, going on trips, and discovering new things.”

What are you proud of in your role or team?
“I’m proud of how our team handles the wide range of client questions and challenges. We almost always manage to find a solution that truly satisfies the client. That requires creativity, collaboration, and the drive to give your best. Personally, I’m proud of my development within Pipple. Six years ago, I started as a senior data scientist, and since then I’ve taken on various roles, including project leader and setting up the technical core of Pipple. Today, I’m responsible for the technical direction across the entire company. That growth, together with Pipple’s own development over that time, makes me proud.”

What do people often not know about you?
“I’m interested in coffee. I’m not a hardcore expert, but I enjoy experimenting with it. At home, I grind fresh beans and brew coffee in different ways. My favorite method is the Aeropress, which uses air pressure to push the coffee through. It’s simple but always delivers a great cup. With fresh beans, you can really taste the difference, which makes it extra enjoyable for me.”

What is your most memorable Pipple moment?
“In my first week, we immediately had a Pipple XXL Day. It started as a regular workday but ended as a fun evening that went on late into the night. Coming from a more corporate environment, that was a real positive culture shock for me. My first client assignment was also memorable: delivering something complex in just twenty working days that was immediately well-received. Those first months were full of new experiences, and that feeling has never really left me.”
